Hi, I’m Gunnar 👋🏼

I did everything “right.” I got the degree. I landed the dream software engineering job.

Everything looked great on paper, but I couldn't shake the feeling that life was passing me by.

After years of code, commutes, and obsessing over early retirement spreadsheets, I finally snapped. In 2022, I sold everything, quit my job, and I backpacked around the world

for 15 months across 20 countries.

That leap changed everything.

It was the highest point of my life.

But what followed was my absolute lowest.

I returned home, stuck at my parents' home, with no job, no car, no identity and now unable to relate to my old friends.

I slowly built back up, and now I have a new, fully-remote role that I love.

But now, I now also have all the experience and lessons I learned about fear, freedom, money, purpose, and designing a life that actually feels alive.

My mission is to continue building a life that excites me--

One of Freedom, Adventure, Growth, and Connection.

And I'll be sharing my journey and all the lessons that come with it.
